Format a dialog screen

A short guide how to change the field layout in a dialog screen.

If you like to change the field sequence of a Plex-XML dialog screen with the Drag&Drop tool you could use the following structure and attributes;

  • N Fieldsets
    • each fieldset can have N rows
      • each row has 2 columns
        • each column is separated in 3 sequences
  • label attribute: defines if a field in sequence 2 or 3 should have a label
  • width attribute: defines a leading space in pixel before a field/label of a field


Example with different settings for fieldset, row, column, sequence, label and with:

  • Fieldset 1
    • 01: Fieldset: 1, Row: 1000, Column: 1, Seqence in column: 1, Label: no, Widht: 0
    • 02: Fieldset: 1, Row: 1000, Column: 2, Seqence in column: 1, Label: no, Widht: 0
  • Fieldset 2
    • 03: Fieldset: 2, Row: 1000, Column: 1, Seqence in column: 1, Label: no, Widht: 0
    • 04: Fieldset: 2, Row: 1000, Column: 1, Seqence in column: 2, Label: no, Widht: 0
  • Fieldset 3
    • 05: Fieldset: 3, Row: 1000, Column: 1, Seqence in column: 1
    • 06: Fieldset: 3, Row: 1000, Column: 1, Seqence in column: 2, Label: yes, Widht: 0
    • 07: Fieldset: 3, Row: 1000, Column: 1, Seqence in column: 3, Label: yes, Widht: 300
