General
For each user that should work with a Plex-XML application you will need to enter the data of the user in the security system.
- In order to maintain your user you can find the user overview display in the following menu branch

- To add an user click on the
new record button
- If your application authenticates that new user with a LDAP directory an easy to go alternative to create such a LDAP user is to press the LDAP button and select the user from the LDAP directory. This will create a new user in Plex-XML which can be changed thereafter.
- To change an existing user click on the row with the user name

User details
- Login name
This is the technical name of the user. The user has to type this name in the login screen.
- User name
This is the full name of the user
- Description
Some description about the user eg. company, department, role
- Disabled
If this is checked the user can not log in to the system
- User validation type
This indicates how the password will be verified
- INTERN: The password is stored and validated internally within the Plex-XML database
- LDAP: The password is stored and validated in the external LDAP directory
- Failed login
Shows how many times a user has failed to type his correct password
- Last Login
The date and time of the last log in of the user
- IP address
If there is the beginning or a whole IP address stored in this field the user can only login from a device with an IP address that begins with or is equal to this entry.
- Password must change
If this is checked the user is enforced to change his password during the next login. This is only valid for user with the user validation type = 'INTERN'
- Password last change
The date of the last password change. This is only valid for user with the user validation type = 'INTERN'
- Language
This user-specific language setting will change the language of the application for this user. Each label and error message of the application can have a translation in any language.
- Locale
This user-specific localization setting influences the format of dates and figures the user will see or enter. It will change the decimal sign and separator of figures and the edit and display mask (delimiters and order of day, month and year) of date fields.

The user name, date and time of the creation of this user record

The user name, date and time of the last change of this user record
